Security Record
The nucleus of e·silentpartner’s security system is the individual security record defined in the Security component of e·silentpartner. Security records permit access to all features and functions of e·silentpartner that are controlled by its security system.
Tip for speeding security setup: Check a section box to permit access to the entire menu. Then, deselect a box to deny access to a specific feature within the menu.
A security record with the appropriate access privileges must be established for each user accessing the system.
Access is allowed to a specific feature of e·silentpartner if the corresponding box displays a check. Conversely, access is denied to a specific feature if the corresponding box is 'blank'.
The security window closely follows the hierarchy of e·silentpartner — that is, access is authorized first to a menu, e.g., Jobs, then to a window, e.g. Job Start, then to a function(s) on a window, e.g., Add, Edit, Delete, etc. With this approach you can assign privileges when they are needed and only those functions that are needed by the individual.
