Creating an estimate

An inherent benefit with using the above features is that you CAN have a direct link between the hours and efforts expended to do the job and to the estimate you provide your client.

How?

If you do the planning first, i.e., assign items on a task-by-task basis; the culmination of these efforts can create the estimate.

Click Screenshot 2024-04-30 142427.png . The following is an example of what you view when you have applied hours, roles and items to plan tasks.

The values shown are what were entered in the Roles/Items window or in the "I" area of the Plan window itself. This reflects the effort it should take to undertake and complete the job.

You can add or remove items as needed. Keep in mind, if you use this feature there is a direct link between the plan services and hours and the Estimate itself.

Simply click Screenshot 2024-04-30 142601.png and e·silentpartner creates an estimate for the job/project.

Remember, the estimate you created is based on the items and hours you determined are necessary for each task. If the total estimate value is not in accordance with the client’s proposed budget, clearly you can reduce hours in the estimate section.

But at least you know at the outset that the final estimate to the client may not be in accordance with the ‘estimated’ hours on the job/project plan.
