Creating an Opportunity will allow you to keep track of the dollar value of any sales from current prospects. The Opportunity function will also allow you to add or search for current opportunities. You may differentiate the opportunity by the product or service your company is providing to sales representative, sales stage and/or competition. You may also create a decision time frame for a sales funnel.
Add and search
To add an Opportunity, click CRM > Opportunity > +. Then, fill out the form fields. As with Contact and Lead, you must fill in any required fields (*) in order for the entry to be saved. All other information is optional for creating an entry but is helpful with internal searching and reporting.
All Opportunities are listed at the central Lead’s record. Clicking on the Opportunity gives you access to display and edit the opportunity accordingly as information changes.
Turning opportunities into jobs
At some point, you may want to turn an opportunity into a job so you can track time, build estimates and manage the final deliverables just as you would for Client jobs. First, click on the Opportunity and then Click on the blue ‘Transfer to Jobs’ button. This will create a new job # for this Company.
